Annette and Caroline Kierulf: Night Work in the Garden
@ Northern PrintBook Now
16 March 2017 - 29 April 2017
Northern Print is delighted to present a series of woodcuts from a collaborative project by Norwegian artists Annette and Caroline Kierulf.
Having agreed a common framework for the prints, the two artists (also sisters) make individual artworks. Using the scale and format of posters, these woodcuts use one of the oldest forms of printmaking to explore very current concerns of technology, economy, consumerism and the environment. They see their work as ‘aesthetic resistance’ to the challenges of our society.
This exhibition was previously shown at Great North Museum: Hancock as part of International Print Biennale 2016 so take this rare opportunity to see this impressive work alongside some additional prints by the Kierulf sisters whilst it is in the UK.
