To mark the 300th anniversary of the birth of Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown, England’s greatest landscape gardener, Highlights Rural Touring Theatre brings to Barningham Village Hall “Capability Brown – The Eye Catcher”. In this affectionate, comic one-man show, meet the man himself, charming and personable, as he effortlessly climbs from Northern anonymity to become one of the most famous men in England. Learn about how he transformed the landscape in places like Chatsworth, Wallington Hall, Alnwick Castle and Aske Hall. Find out how to create a ha-ha, alter the course of a river or move a village! With evocative music from the period and visuals, puppetry and personalities, you will be entranced by the gardens of Lancelot Capability Brown. As a bonus there is a discussion about the man and his gardens after the show led by John Cobb who plays Capability Brown.
