Exhibition on Plastics in Birds

@ Tower House Gallery

25 July 2018 - 31 August 2018

If you feel strongly about the tide of plastic around us come and have a look at some of the research showing the results of it. Or if you would like to do something about it then there are ways you could help.

The birds in question are fulmars. They were used by the Dove Marine Laboratories in Cullercoats for research into plastic consumption. The research is coordinated from Amsterdam and is a worldwide project and has been featured in Blue Planet. Daniel Turner is one of the researchers leading the project in the Northeast. He will be available in the gallery on certain days to talk to people about the project and its impact. It is just one small insight into the effect of plastics on the oceans and ultimately the planet.
