Pons Aelius

2015 Celtic Connections Danny Kyle Award Winners, Pons Aelius is an ambitious young instrumental sextet exploring the traditional and contemporary folk musics of Britain and beyond. With bold arrangements and an arsenal of instruments, the band melds age-old traditions with a fresh and innovative attitude.

Eabhal (trio)

Eabhal met and began making music together on the Outer Hebrides’ Isle of Uist. Usually a quartet, Eabhal will be performing at Hexham Gathering as a trio with original members Hamish (flutes / highland pipes) and Nicky (guitar) joined by Stonehaven fiddle maestro Ross Hull.

QHA’s very own exciting and energetic youth folk band led by Sophy Ball.
