Christopher Bruce’s masterpiece, Ghost Dances, is possibly the most popular work in Rambert’s history. It tells stories of love and compassion, as death – in the form of the iconic “ghost dancers”– interrupts the daily lives of a series of ordinary people. Visually referencing the Day of the Dead, and driven by bewitching Latin American folk music, it is a moving, intensely human work.
This triple bill also includes a brand new dance theatre creation by rising star Ben Duke, inspired by the music and spirit of Nina Simone, with a selection of her best-loved songs performed on stage. Completing the programme is an all-action work by internationally acclaimed choreographer Andonis Foniadakis.
