This is your chance to compete in a two-day Design Challenge mentored by leaders from the worlds of museums and academia.

You could be part of a multi-skilled team and work alongside curators, artists, designers, scientists, computer coders, makers and nature enthusiasts.

It’s like a Hackathon but anyone is welcome. You don’t have to be a hacker. You don’t need technical expertise. You just need an interest in the Great North Museum: Hancock and an imagination for how the museum and other public spaces could be remade.

By the end of the weekend you and your team will have created a prototype that will be judged by the panel of experts.

Together, you could win prizes and accolades, but most importantly, you could be involved in a follow-up process whereby resources will be made available to make your ideas a reality.

Interested? Find out more at www.gnmdesignchallenge.co.uk and then tell us why you want to take part.

Great North Museum: Hancock manager Caroline McDonald is among the keynote speakers.
