Solar System Walk and Diorama Workshop

10am to 12noon, 12:30-2:30pm, 3-5pm

Children - £5 (accompanying adults free)

Discover the planets on a guided walk to Gibson’s Cave with Astro Joe (bring wellies/boots and warm/waterproof clothing). Are they close together or far apart? How big are they, compared to each other?

After a short break we will reconvene in Bowlees Visitors Centre (Upper Teesdale, DL12 0XE) to make a space-themed diorama. You decide what goes into it – planets, space ships, aliens. There will even be some real space dust to include in your creation.

Take your diorama home so that you can carry on the space play later on. Suitable for ages 5+. All children must be accompanied. This event is part of the North Pennines Stargazing Festival running from 20 October to 4 November 2018 – www.NorthPenninesStarFest.org.uk

This activity will be run three times during the day: 10am to 12noon; 12.30 to 2.30pm; and 3 to 5pm.
