TakeOff Festival is England’s leading festival of theatre for children and young people. The festival takes place each year in venues across the County Durham. Each year TakeOff bring some of the most exciting theatre companies from the UK and beyond to the region so that their work can be enjoyed by schools, families, children and young people in a variety of venues.
TakeOff Festival now operates on a two year cycle so that they can serve as wide an audience as possible. On even years, this means spreading the shows far and wide across venues from East Durham to Weardale, Washington down to Stockton to be enjoyed by young audiences from right across the region. On odd years, they focus most of the shows in Durham City where the festival also serves as an annual meeting point for professionals working in the field of theatre for young audiences. TakeOff bus local children in to enjoy the programme with visitors from across the UK and international guests.
Full details can be viewed on the TakeOff website.
