Local green wood worker Chris Helliwell will be in the garden. He will be demonstrating and giving people a chance to try a pole lathe and shave horse. Chris has been coming to the garden for a number of years now and is popular with visitors. A pole lathe the traditional tool of a wood bodger.It requires no power, other than that of your leg and a sprung pole. Come and see a simple log magically transformed into anythng from a humble dibber to a baby's rattle or a goblet.

Have and try it for yourself ! This event is kindly funded by the 'Friends of the Garden'.
