Ever wondered how Eskimos manage to live in the Arctic, how you find water in the depths of the desert or even how huge cities deal with their sewage? Human Life is a hands-on exhibition where you'll find the answers to these and many other questions about who we are, where we live and what the future holds.
Split into three zones, Human Life explores Our Past, Our Present and Our Future.
Explore our ancestors in Our Past. How did we evolve from primates through to modern humans and how did we come to populate nearly every corner of the earth?
Our Present looks at the here and now examining three diverse landscapes: the desert, the arctic and the city. Find out how we use modern technology to survive sub-zero temperatures, how millions of people live together in crowded cities and how traditional and hi-tech equipment allows even the harshest and hottest environments to be inhabited.
The Our Future zone uses state-of-the-art technology to present information on what the future holds for human life. It looks at the impact of an ageing population, the development of new areas of medicine such as stem cell therapy and the challenges we face when tackling Climate Change.
