Aurora Orchestra - Live from The Roundhouse
Conductor, Nicholas Collon leads the orchestra in a characteristically eclectic programme charting a course from violence and destruction to rebirth, and the vibrancy of urban life. The desolate post-war German cities of Strauss’ Metamorphosen give way to the dizzying growth of modern New York as imagined by Michael Gordon in Gotham.
The programme is completed by a virtuosic new chamber arrangement evoking the flavour of the original West End pit-band instrumentation of West Side Story.
