Rosie Villiers – Stuart is a landscape and wildlife painter, living and working in the North Pennines. She exhibits widely in England and Scotland.

Working mostly in watercolour, her inspiration is the landscape and wildlife around her home – bare hills, lush valleys and summer hay meadows.

Working outside in all weathers, she sometimes finishes paintings on the spot, sometimes takes sketches back to her studio where she distils, elaborates or transforms them into finished paintings and prints. Recent work involves looking through gaps – maybe a window or a hedge – and towards light sources, where form dissolves and boundaries disappear.
