The Laing Art Gallery is delighted to present Collecting Contemporary Art, an exhibition which showcases work by some of the most significant contemporary artists living and working in the North East today.
Created by The Sponsors Club with support from Arts Council England North East, the Business Collectors Network was designed to encourage businesses to engage North East based contemporary artists, by promoting the benefits of exhibiting their art in the workplace. The business members displayed specially selected artworks in their offices, with the collection coming together annually for public exhibition.
Now these artworks have been gifted to the Laing Art Gallery and are on show until Sunday 2 September.
The business members of the Business Collectors Network are: Arup, Blue River (now Founded), The Express Group, NewcastleGateshead Initiative, Ryders, Sage plc, Ward Hadaway, The Banks Group and Xsite Architecture.
