His influences include Bootsy Collins, Victor Wooten, Flea from The Red Hot Chilli Peppers, and Marcus Miller, and he describes his style as “funk and rock with a dash of pop”. James has played in a diverse range of bands, ranging from folk to death metal, with a chunk of rock thrown in. He is currently studying Popular Music at Leeds College of Music, and gigging with a band in his spare time.

He has successfully created, organised and run several different workshops and courses for young musicians in Tynedale. George plays and deps for bands and groups across the northeast and regularly gigs in lots of different styles.
