Durham Art Gallery is County Durham's largest modern and contemporary art gallery.
Over the next 6 months you can enjoy exciting art work from regional, national and international artists. You can visit and experience exhibitions of early English abstract art by Bishop Auckland-born John Cecil Stephenson, contemporary photography by Zed Nelson and Julian Germain, First World War pastels by surgeon and artist Henry Tonks, and installation work by regionally-based, emerging artist Ed Francis.
The exhibition programme is supplemented by a number of talks and readings throughout the year, including talks on 'Artists of the Great War' and 'The Miner in Art' with Gail-Nina Anderson, Ludmilla Jordanova and hear Par Barker reading from her works.
