Monday to Saturday 10.00am to 5.00pm, Sunday 2.00pm to 5.00pm.
Discovery Museum is the North East’s biggest free museum. Its displays celebrate the history, diversity and achievements in the region. The museum features fun and fascinating scientific exhibitions and important collections of maritime, social history, fashion and regimental life are on display. The museum’s most popular and most impressive exhibit is Turbinia, the world’s first turbine-powered vessel and the fastest ship in the world in 1897.

Directions
By car: A small pay and display car park is available outside the museum, however this gets very busy during museum opening hours. Alternative car parking can be found at the Grainger Town car park which is off Waterloo Street beside DanceCity. Monday to Saturday 8.00am to 6.00pm 60p per hour Sunday £1.00 all day. By train: Discovery Museum is a short walk from Newcastle Central Station which is serviced by the Metro and national mainline station.
