Monday to Saturday 10.00am to 6.00pm. Sunday 11.00am to 6.00pm. Last admission 4.00pm.

The Centre for Life promotes the discovery, understanding and enjoyment of the world around us alongside contemporary science issues. Come to Life and discover how people live in extreme environments and the basic things we all need to survive in our world today. Become immersed in The Dome with stunning shows projected on a 360 degree domed ceiling above your head. Watch live science demonstrations in the Life Theatre and enjoy the thrills and spills of The Motion Ride. Exhibitions and events are always changing so there’s always something new coming soon.

At the Centre for Life, you’ll find a wide range of facilities to make your visit as enjoyable as possible.
The Times Square Café is open to non-paying guests. There's plenty on the menu to suit all tastes, sample one of our freshly filled baguettes or indulge yourself with one of our hot pastries or tempting cakes. In Mad Pursuits Café, situated inside the Science Centre, fill up on a hot meal. Our menus change daily but you can be sure to find a meal that will make your mouth water.
The Centre for Life Souvenir Shop has a range of science kits, toys, books, souvenirs and lots of great gift ideas are available to suit all pockets.

Directions
By car: Life is situated a few minutes drive from the A1(M). Times Square car park is located next to Centre for Life on Railway Street. With 635 spaces including ample spaces for visitors with disabilities, and at only 70p per hour, the car park is both affordable and accessible.
By train: Life is located 200 yards away from Newcastle’s Central railway station. The metro underground system also runs through this station with trains running every few minutes to areas of Newcastle, North Tyneside, Gateshead, South Tyneside and Sunderland.
