The Lamplight Arts Centre, a 1960s building, still retains its topical exterior; inside, the building has been revamped and is now a comfortable, modern centre for performing and visual arts. It is situated in the town of Stanley and along with the Empire Theatre in Consett, is at the centre for arts in Derwentside.
Facilities include a well equipped 400 seat auditorium with multi layout formats, Derwent suite, Gallery, rehearsal space & café facilities. The venue auditorium is also licensed for civil partnership and civil marriage ceremonies.
The events and activity programme is varied with professional arts events including Live music, Adult theatre, Educational theatre, Film and Workshops. Space is available to hire for amateur productions, sporting events, private party celebrations, conferences, training and seminars.
The Lamplight Arts Centre is a relaxing, vibrant and enjoyable centre with a diverse arts programme, that provides a unique arts experience in the heart of Co.Durham.

Accessibility
The Lamplight Arts Centre has excellent access for people with a disability. An induction loop system is installed within the auditorium and the venue has a lift and dedicated toilets/washrooms on both the ground and first floors. There is more than ample room for wheelchairs in the auditorium, bars and other public spaces. However, the front doors to the building are not automatic and some members of the public may find these difficult to manage. If this is the case please ring ahead to ensure help is on hand when you arrive. Blue Badge holder parking is directly in front of the building.

Directions
Roads into Stanley
Take the A693 west from Chester le Street, the A1 and Sunderland. Take the A692 east from Consett and the A68. Take the A6076 east from Lanchester and the A68. Take the A692 west from Gateshead and Newcastle then take the A6076 west at Sunniside. Take the B6532 from Durham and the A1.
There is a regular bus route to and from the larger towns as well as many smaller villages. The bus centre is 2 mins walk from the Lamplight.
