Explore over 55 acres of landscaped parkland, created from colliery spoil site. Over 600,000 cubic metres of colliery spoil was shifted and then reused to create the hills and valleys of the parkland.

There are three signposted walks in the Parkland, for all the family to enjoy.  There are lakes, wetlands and sculptured terraces taking you through various wildlife habitats.

Watch as the newly developed land flourishes into outstanding country parkland. There’s a childrens playarea, free 1200 space car park, baby feeding facilities and five star toilet facilities.

Year round special events include Noddy, Flavour of the Continent markets and outdoor theatre productions.

Cafes and restaurants include: BB’s coffee and muffins, Cafe Thorntons, Carvery Plus, McDonalds, Millies Cookies, Spud u like and Starbucks.
