Established as a University Research Centre in 2009 and led by Director Linda Anderson, the Newcastle Centre for the Literary Arts’ primary mission is to contribute to the cultural life of the North East region through the provision of events, education, projects and publications in the field of creative writing.

The NCLA programme brings writers from around the world to Newcastle to take part in readings, discussion and debate.
