Donations welcome

We welcome you along to Beer and Busk, a fundraising event and celebration of acoustic music at The Witham. Previous busing sessions in our cafe have always produced such a lovely community spirit and it’s been an absolute pleasure to support both young and established talent in Barnard Castle and the local area. There have been some real gems of performances that we have all enjoyed – so thank you to those who have taken part and put a little bit of money into the hat!
Beer and Busk is the first ‘big’ fundraising activity we are looking forward to in order to support our bustling arts centre as a whole. Over the coming months into autumn 2017 and beyond, The Witham needs support to continue to offer more high quality artistic and cultural experiences including participation opportunities in the arts. As you may know, we are living in uncertain times, when more than ever, we’re asking ourselves as a country and especially in the North, who we are, and arts centre can be part of that inquiry.
With regional beers on offer as well as our usual tasty homemade fare in the café, the acoustic atmosphere will be the icing on the cake for a perfect afternoon of local music making!
Musicians are to be announced, but we can assure you of a joyous afternoon of fiddles, harps, singing, guitars, folk and popular acoustic music. Please spread the word and support our arts centre.
