A remarkable piece of original filmmaking, this is the parallel dramatised narrative of two
explorers who during the 1900s followed the same route among the Amazonian forest to find
a sacred healing plant, forty years apart but relying on the same wise man to guide their
path.
The journey is not only a constant challenge, but also a huge leap in the men’s learning,
where western ways and colonial attitudes are blown out of the rapids as the legacies of
interference in an ancient way of life are exposed along their route.
With striking cinematography, this is a bold and disturbing story beautifully told and acted,
producing a film which captures the eye but ultimately impacts the heart.
