Dr John Cooper Clarke shot to prominence in the 1970s as the original ‘people’s poet.’

Today he is as relevant as ever and his presence is visible on today’s pop culture. His poetry is included on the National Curriculum syllabus and his influence on modern music is huge with the Arctic Monkey’s putting one of his classic poems I Wanna Be Yours to music.
