Imagine, if you can, it’s your 50th Wedding Anniversary. Imagine, if you can, being surrounded by friends, relatives and loved ones. Imagine they have thrown you a surprise party, the lights are down low, Slim Whitman is singing

‘Darling Happy Anniversary on the record player and in comes the cake, accompanied by your daughter crying, ‘I’ve left him mum’.

Follow the anxiety of John and Jean as they try to discover why their daughter has left her husband? Why oh why she has decided to move back home? Why everyone, except the neighbours, refuses to discuss this, and why, as the parents, you are always the last to know?

This in an hilarious irreverent comedy which challenges our perceptions, our prejudices, our ignorance’s and our entrenched attitudes about relationships. The play contains some adult themes and may offend.

This is an amateur production presented by Matchbox Theatre
