As dusk falls, experience the cathedral in a whole new light and add your candle to a giant St Cuthbert’s Cross shape on the floor of the cathedral’s Nave. Climb the 325 steps up the tower to see the beautiful lights of the city, or learn more about the treasures of Durham with half price entry to Durham Cathedral Museum. Take a peek into the historic song school and the Chapter House, two behind-the-scenes areas rarely open to the public.
Cathedrals at Night is an initiative taking place at cathedrals across England.
There is no charge or ticket needed to enter the cathedral. Some unique extra experiences have a charge and require advance booking – https://bit.ly/3kTUChZ
