Durham Book Festival favourite Chris Mullin is back! 35 years after the publication of his much-loved novel A Very British Coup, Chris will be introducing its sequel, his timely new novel, The Friends of Harry Perkins.
Set in a near-future post-Brexit Britain, this tantalising human drama is skilfully woven around the big issues of the day, from the rise of English nationalism to a looming confrontation between America and China.
At once a gripping political thriller and a chilling prognostic of where we might be heading, this is truly a novel of our times.
Chris Mullin was MP for Sunderland South from 1987 to 2010 and is the acclaimed author of three volumes of diaries including A Walk On-Part and A View From the Foothills.
