Step into a world of colour and discover interesting objects through a kaleidoscope lens. Some of those objects will celebrate landmark anniversaries including 40th birthdays for Tyne & Wear Metro, the Great North Run and Discovery Museum itself – all launched in 1980.

The family-friendly exhibition will also feature interactive exhibits for children to explore, from giant replicas of some of the objects on display to dressing up and role-play in mini sets.
