David Watson: Steel Flesh and Bone
@ Woodhorn Museum
Book Now
19 November 2016 - 05 March 2017
All day during museum opening hours
David Watson’s paintings resonate with Woodhorn’s colliery heritage and the related work of the Ashington Group (Pitmen Painters). Based in Middlesbrough, David has spent his life immersed in, and making paintings about, the connected industries of steel and shipbuilding, industries fed by the northern coalfields. Watson’s work, like that of the Ashington Group, captures a north east working world and way of life now lost.
This exhibition is a partnership between Woodhorn Museum and curator Mark Parham.
