This year the Tyne Theatre and Opera House is celebrating 150 years of entertaining Newcastle!

Built in 1867 and designed by W.B. Parnell for Joseph Cowen, it is a Grade I listed theatre. Guides from the Preservation Trust will set the historical scene before taking you into the beautiful auditorium, on to the stage, and then below the stage to see the carefully restored Victorian stage machinery. Your guide will explain how this was used to produce amazing theatrical effects.
