This year’s festival commission brings together Mercury-Prize nominated Kathryn Williams and musician friends including Michele Stodart from The Magic Numbers, and Tom McRae who lead a group of poets and novelists including Professor of Poetry at Lancaster University Paul Farley, one of Britain’s foremost spoken word artists Salena Godden, Sunday Times best-seller Laura Barnett and Polari First Book Prize winner Kirsty Logan on an intensive three day songwriting retreat in Durham, before premiering their work.
