The Lake Poets is the alias for singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Martin Longstaff from Sunderland.  His honeyed voice glides over beautifully intricate guitar riffs create a sound that soothes, understated like watercolours of an idyllic landscape. This sound is coupled with lyrics of love and heartbreak.

His lyrics have the capacity to devastate and the gorgeous melodies contrast this feeling to foster a profound sense of catharsis.

This event is presented as part of the Launderette Sessions – a boutique music festival created in partnership by the Gala Theatre and Old Cinema Launderette.
