Have you ever dreamed of being a writer? Or maybe you’d like to have a go at poetry, scriptwriting, songwriting or reviewing?

Whether you’ve already got a novel on your memory stick or are looking for a bit of inspiration to give your writing a kick-start, this New Writing North Young Writers South Shields’ group is the thing you’ve been looking for. Held weekly in term time, it offers young writers aged 12-19 a chance to share their work, learn new skills, and give and receive feedback in a creative and supportive atmosphere.

WHAT IS NEW WRITING NORTH YOUNG WRITERS SOUTH SHIELDS?

New Writing North Young Writers South Shields is the name of New Writing North’s young peoples’ programme. It aims to provide year-round provision and opportunities for young writers in the North of England, through writing groups, projects, online support and its publications.

BENEFITS OF JOINING

Participating in New Writing North Young Writers’ programme helps young people achieve many things: to get into university, build CVs and write portfolios, develop writing skills and get jobs.
But there is more to it than just writing. New Writing North Young Writers enables young people to find their voices, express their identities, build friendships and grow their confidence.

Please note:  these sessions only run during term time. No writing experience necessary.
