@ Tyne Theatre & Opera HouseBook Now
27 September 2022
This September, audiences are invited to spend a delicious evening with Yotam Ottolenghi and Noor Murad, the team behind the Ottolenghi Test Kitchen (OTK), as they reveal how to ‘Ottolenghify’ your meals in this fun and interactive event.
Live on stage, Ottolenghi and Murad will take you through their latest OTK cookbook, Extra Good Things, and the ways in which everyday ingredients can be transformed into dishes with oomph. With a little Test Kitchen magic, they will share ideas for flavour-packed sauces, sprinkles, and condiments that all lend a little something extra to your next meal.
Just as food brings people together, this event combines the culinary innovation of Ottolenghi and Murad with suggestions and questions from the audience to create a one-off live experience. It’s all the good things you want from Ottolenghi, plus extra.
Israeli-born British chef and food writer Yotam Ottolenghi is one of the most influential chefs of recent times. After completing a degree in Tel Aviv and masters in Amsterdam, he completed a six-month course at Le Cordon Bleu in London. He is the author of several best-selling cookbooks, including Jerusalem, Plenty and Simple. He has presented an accompanying podcast, Simple Pleasures, of which Jessie Ware and Nigella Lawson have featured as guests. He has a weekly column in The Guardian and has appeared on the BBC One series Saturday Kitchen and The Great British Food Revival.
Noor Murad is a Bahraini-British chef born and raised in the Middle East to a Bahraini dad and English mum, meaning she loves tahini and Victoria sponge in equal measure. She has 16 years industry experience and has worked in Bahrain, New York, Hawaii and Germany before eventually relocating to London in 2016 to join the Ottolenghi family. Noor is the head of the Ottolenghi Test Kitchen and co-author of Ottolenghi Test Kitchen: Shelf Love as well as the second Ottolenghi Test Kitchen book, coming out this September. She has also developed recipes for Ottolenghi Flavour, Falastin, Ottolenghi’s Masterclass series as well as various other Ottolenghi online publications.
