Join Discovery Museum’s Inventor in Residence Matt Wright for the unveiling of the most enjoyable, most responsive and greenest city you can imagine living in.

Using LittleBits, Lego®, lots of cardboard and plenty of ingenuity, Tyneside’s families have worked together to create the model metropolis of the future.

Walk around and discover how designers, architects and engineers are collaborating to create cities which can respond intelligently to changes in the weather, traffic flow and city-wide problems.

New Inventors: Inventors in Residence is Discovery Museum’s exciting residency programme working with STEM practitioners to devise and deliver a bold and innovative school and events programme to spark imagination and inspire a new generation of inventors, designers and makers.

New Inventors: Inventors in Residence has been made possible thanks to a grant from the Platten Family Fund at the Community Foundation Tyne & Wear and Northumberland. The fund was established in 2014 and supports the charitable activity that inspires the next generation of engineers.
