The Cathedral community gives thanks for those who share the task of maintaining the Queen’s peace throughout the north-east region with a festal service of Matins. This is preceded by a fanfare that heralds the Judges’ Procession, consisting of Chief Constables, Magistrates, District, Tribunal and Circuit Judges, High Sheriffs and the Lord Justice of Appeal; the Cathedral Procession including the Diocesan Registrar and the Chancellor; and the Vice-Chancellor of Durham University, the Mayor of Durham and HM Lord-Lieutenant for County Durham.
