Attended by members of the Royal British Legion Riders Branch, following a 24 hour motorbike ride around the North of England in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the Battle of the Somme. The ride will begin with the blowing of a whistle used to start the Battle of the Somme in 1916, at Durham Cathedral at 7.30am on Friday 1 July, exactly one hundred years later. The whistle is being blown at various places around the North of England before the Riders return to Durham for the Eucharist. All are welcome.
