In celebration of Discovery Museum’s Enigma machine display, join us for a curators talk and screening of The Imitation Game in our Great Hall.
On this day (2 February 1942) the German Navy introduced a new Enigma machine which caused an immediate black-out for the Bletchley Park codebreakers. The black-out that started on 2 February 1942, lasted for nearly nine months and costed, no doubt numerous, lives.
10.30am Curators talk: Enigma and the North East
Discover how people from the North East played a role in helping the code breakers at Bletchley Park crack the Enigma code.
