Sunderland-born Tim Brennan creates both painterly poems and poetic images. His work reflects on what it means to have a ‘sense of place’ in the most profound ways – to be a part of a shared political history with others and to ‘see the world’ in a particular way. Similarly, Brennan’s magnificent landscape photographs reveal the colours of light all around us at 55’ north. They are taken on the simplest of devices – an ordinary mobile phone – but provide glimpses into what we ordinarily lose sight of.
