West Auckland Memorial Community Centre

The Village

West Auckland is a village situated to the west of Bishop Auckland on the A68 road. The village is famous for its football team to win the first World Cup! It also has one of the largest village greens in the county.

The Hall

The Memorial Community Centre was built in 1925 as a fitting memorial to the men of West Auckland who died in the 1914 – 1918 war. Since then the original hall has been renovated and built on, and now offers a welcoming venue for residents of West Auckland and the surrounding areas.

The hall is available for hire for:

  • Meetings/Seminars
  • Social Events/Fayres and Sales
  • Rehearsals
  • Training
  • Functions
  • Parties
  • Dances

  • New Activities

Regular activities ongoing in the hall include New Age Kurling, Carpet Bowls, Zumba, Piloxing, Hip Hop & Street Dance, After School Jujitsu and Self Defence, Weight Watchers and Slimming World.

The Main Function Room is ideally suited for Children’s Parties, as it can accommodate a Bouncy Castle.
