Gary Barlow Tickets and Blackfriars Meal Up for Grabs in Incredible Charity Prize Draw

Posted on July 18th 2022 by Whats on Northeast

Tyne Theatre & Opera House is a charity; as a non-profit organisation, the survival of the iconic, historical venue depends upon the support and the generosity of the local community.

Created by Gary and his long-time friend and collaborator Tim Firth, A Different Stage sees Gary narrate the journey of his life alongside the music from his incredible discography. In a project unlike anything he has ever done before, Gary will take the audience behind the curtain, with nothing off limits in this special performance.

Gary said: “Now I’ve done shows where it has just been me and a keyboard. I’ve done shows where I sit and talk to people. I’ve done shows where I’ve performed as part of a group. But this one, well, it’s like all of those, but none of them. When I walk out this time, it’s going to be a very different stage altogether.”

With its origins dating back to 1239, Blackfriars confidently lays claim to being the oldest dining room in the UK. Blackfriars have won many awards including Taste of the North East, and is now one of the most recognised and reputable restaurants in Newcastle. Blackfriars serve a gutsy traditional-British menu using local seasonal ingredients, often straight from the local farms and markets.

Theatre Director Joanne Johnson said “Our previous Crowdfunder draws have proved extremely popular with our audiences, so we’re excited to announce yet another opportunity to win with tickets to one of Newcastle’s most in demand music events, while also supporting our venue. It’s always a pleasure to work with Blackfriars Restaurant too, and we are grateful for their very generous contribution. We love working with local businesses so to be able to offer this fantastic prize is a real joy.”

Gary Barlow – A Different Stage plays Monday 10th – Wednesday 12th October 2022
