INNSiDE NEWCASTLE REVEALS BOTANICAL BEDROOM
Posted on August 8th 2022 by Whats on Northeast
INNSiDE Newcastle, part of Meliá Hotels International, has launched a plant room pop-up for the summer, at the city centre hotel. A bedroom at the hotel has been given a leafy renovation with a curated collection of houseplants, from a local independent collaboration – available to book throughout August 2022, on a first-come first-served basis.
This summer INNSiDE Newcastle will provide a unique stay experience, with an aim to boost happiness as guests step into the Botanical bedroom. Not only do indoor plants enhance the overall appearance of the rooms they are in, but studies have shown they boost moods, increase creativity, reduce stress, and eliminate air pollutants — making for a healthier, happier you.
The Newcastle Botanical plant room is in collaboration with independent plant and lifestyle store Plantopia, based in Hartlepool. The Botanical Room has been curated by Plantopia who has helped conceive and oversee the design of the greenery in the room; in addition to suggesting the best plant species that are most suited, based on the environment of the room, ambience, and seasonality.
Plantopia was founded by mother & daughter duo Linda and Emily who have always loved having plants in their home and the endless varieties you can get. What started out in a summerhouse soon went online and has since moved to a shop in Hartlepool and market stalls all around the North East, turning their hobby into a job they love doing. The dream is to bring houseplants to all homes, spreading the joy that they bring.
Plantopia will also be hosting a special Terrarium Workshop at INNSiDE Newcastle on the 17th of August. Experts at Plantopia will provide a hands-on sensory experience in the beautiful Quayside setting of INNSiDE Newcastle. Guests will get everything they need to make their own little eco-system, choosing their own plants and being educated on how to care for the Terrarium long after the session. 25 places are available, and tickets are available to book via Plantopia’s website on this link. Tickets are £30 and include a complimentary drink on arrival.
The collaboration is in keeping with INNSiDE by Meliá’s philosophy ‘Stay Curious’, which promises to accommodate guests’ every need with considered comforts and locally inspired experiences.
Commenting on the Botanical collaboration launch, Calum Manekshaw, General Manager of INNSiDE Newcastle said, “We wanted to create something a little different for our guests – a bedroom offering that reflects a summer staycation, blooming with greenery and promoting a natural mood booster for those staying with us. The collaboration with Plantopia draws on the Stay Curious ethos of INNSiDE; offering locally inspired experiences with a venturous difference.”
The summer Botanical Room is available at INNSiDE Newcastle to book throughout August 2022, with no additional costs. To book or upgrade please contact the hotel reception.
