PREVIEW: Lumiere 2019

Posted on November 11th 2019 by Whats on Northeast

Lumiere returns to Durham from 14-17 November, and will once again transform Durham City into a glittering outdoor gallery.

Lumiere was established in Durham in 2009 and the 2019 programme is expected to wow the thousands of people who flock to the biennial event and to ensure that the county is showcased on a global scale. It will feature a mix of some favourites and brand new artworks.

Join us for a special 10th year anniversary edition. Lumiere is the UK’s largest light festival and has been transforming cities across the UK since 2009. Each Lumiere festival invites local and international artists to create works that reimagine buildings and public spaces, changing the way we experience our environment and the dark, winter nights. Prepare to be dazzled by large-scale projections, interactive creations and mind-blowing installations alongside a selection of quieter, more contemplative artworks.
