PREVIEW: The ‘Best Of British’ Spring Fayre @ Wynyard Hall

There’s now less than two weeks to go before Wynyard Hall put on their biggest event of the season!

The ‘Best Of British’ Spring Fayre is a highlight on the historic hall’s calendar this year, as over two days (20th-21st May) they’ll be cramming in more activities and things to see and do than you can shake a stick at. Taking place both within the Grand Marquee and in the gorgeous Gardens surrounding the hall, there’s plenty on to entertain both the grown-ups and the kids alike!

There’s a couple of talks being held, both by Yummy Thing on the perfect preserves and a Q&A with luxury fashion retailer Andersons of Durham for if you need a little bit of advice going into the summer season. An expert will also be on hand to give a fascinating talk about butterflies (that’s one for the kids and adults alike!) If you need a break though then you can always relax within the comfort of the Smooth Radio Lounge, and if you’ve worked up a bit of an appetite then Wynyard’s acclaimed chefs will also be dishing up some delicious food and drink.

For the littler ones, there’s plenty happening to keep them entertained. As well as face painting and arts and crafts with Durham Wildlife Trust, there’s also a chance to visit the animal petting farm and have fun with a whole host of fairground rides. They might be able to spot a variety of familiar faces, as a bunch of Neverland-inspired characters will be roaming around the area. For a bit of a treat, Annie’s Truckstop and Scoops and Smiles will also be pulling up to the Hall, offering up some little sweet delights.

As if that wasn’t enough, there’s also the chance to browse a huge selection of stalls filled with some of the finest artisan goods that the North has to offer, including homeware, luxury fashion, bespoke jewellery, plants, spirits and craft beer, scrumptious local sausages (and some taste bud-tingling confectionary) as well as children’s toys, games, and more!

With so much going on, you might need both of those two days to take everything in!
