The Spa at Ramside, at Ramside Hall Hotel, Golf and Spa near Durham, is hosting an all-day yoga retreat on Sunday 18 September – but only a few places are still available.

Suitable for yoga beginners and those with more experience, the day will begin with welcome smoothies, followed by two yoga sessions under the guidance of highly trained and experienced instructors.

There will be the chance to experience a meditation sound bath – which uses waves of sound to help clear the mind of thoughts – and also a 40-minute treatment at the hands of the Spa’s skilled therapists.

Herbal infusions and Asian tapas will be served and, to complete the relaxation experience, participants will be able to end the day with a fruit and brownie platter and free time in the spa’s balcony infinity pool.

Lizzie Gibbons, sales manager at the spa, said the benefits of yoga go far beyond rest and relaxation.

“Yoga improves balance, endurance, flexibility and strength,” she said, “while meditation helps keep the mind sharp, relieves stress and relaxes and strengthens the system.

“Practicing yoga in a group setting also stimulates the production of oxytocin – the love hormone – and serotonin, the happy hormone – both of which can really improve mood and wellbeing.”

The retreat will take place between 11am and 6pm. Places cost £165 and only 10 are remaining. They can be booked at https://ramsidespa.onejourney.travel/spa/days/1588
